Way ahead of you – it’s still September and I’m writing things for Halloween. This round is for intermediate children’s choirs (KS2+, or middle school); it features difficult harmonic patterns and some tricky intervals. Work through it methodically, paying attention to the jumps – particularly at the end. Once your choir can sing it all together, try splitting into two groups, then four. I usually ask for a leader for each group – a singer who clearly has mastered the tune and would sing happily on their own – this gives the choir some ownership over their sound and allows you to work with the groups separately.
